Locomotive Weighing System

Utilizing two WI-130 scale indicators, this system is designed to weigh a pair of locomotives as they are placed on six scale platforms. Each WI-130 has three scale platforms connected to it.

One indicator serves as the primary unit and controls the operation of the program. The other serves as the secondary unit and continuously transmits the weights from its three scales to the primary unit. All six weights are displayed on the screen of the primary unit.

When ready to weigh a locomotive, the operator presses the WEIGH key and enters an engine number and customer name.

The system then prompts the operator to pull the locomotive onto the six scale platforms. After this is done, each wheel weight is captured, the axle weights are calculated and shown on the screen. Each wheel weight and axle weight is stored in memory to be used later in a report.

The same weighing procedure is repeated for the second locomotive. After completion of the second weighing, a report automatically prints. The report shows the engine number, customer, the wheel weights and axle weights for each locomotive, and a grand total engine weight.
