Axle Weighing System

The Axle Weighing System, using a Weigh-Tronix WI-130, is a flexible axle weighing program that is configurable to meet the needs of the particular application.

The system automates the process of weighing truck axles by controlling two traffic lights and an optional remote display. A printed ticket is provided that shows the time, date, weight of each axle, and the total truck weight.

Several system parameters can be configured, including: Axle Wait Time, Activation Weight, Weight Percent Change, and Print Type.

Axle Wait Time tells the system the amount of time that must elapse, after an axle leaves the scale, before the system ends the current transaction and begins to wait for the first axle of the next truck. This works in conjunction with the automatic ticket printing mode.

Activation Weight gives the system a minimum weight to qualify as an axle on the scale.

Weight Percent Change is a percentage used to alert the system that x% change in the weight on the scale means that one axle is rolling off the scale, and one axle is rolling on the scale. This is used for axles that are so close together, the scale cannot fall to zero between axles.

Print Type determines the mode of printing for the system. Mode 1 ends the current transaction and prints a ticket when the PRINT key is pressed. Mode 2 ends the current transaction and automatically prints a ticket when the Axle Wait Time expires.

Triple Platform Weighing System

The Axle Weighing System described previously, utilized only one scale. Other axle weighing applications may utilize a triple platform scale. One such system, also using the WI-130, was designed for use with a triple platform scale.

The Triple Platform Weighing System provides results similar to the previous system by controlling two traffic lights and printing a ticket showing the ticket number, time, date, weight of each axle, total truck weight, truck number, and company number.

The main display shows the weights of the three scales on the first three lines, and a summation of all three weights on the fourth line.

The system allows for trucks to be re-weighed by entering the ticket number from the original transaction.

Split-weigh transactions are also available. After entering the initial truck and company information, the system captures the weight of the first set of axles, and then prompts the driver to pull the next set of axles onto the scales. After the final weight is captured, the system prints a ticket.
