Dual Scale Product Weighing & PC Lookup System

This system utilizes two WI-130 indicators, connected to a computer, via a multiplexor. Two scales and a label printer are attached to each WI-130. Because of the number of products used, the computer serves as the product database and lookup system. All product records are maintained in the computer system.

Each WI-130 features two function keys, one for each scale. The operator selects the desired scale, enters a container tare weight and a product number. The WI-130 then sends a request to the PC program for the related data that is to print on the label.

If the product number is found, the PC database and lookup system transmits the product name and other related data back to the WI-130. The WI-130 then verifies that the correct product was entered, by displaying the data on the screen.

If the correct product was chosen, the operator accepts it and begins filling the container with the product. When finished, the operator presses the PRINT key to print a label.

In order for the system to function properly, the PC database program must be running, even if it is minimized. If it is not running, the WI-130 will not be able to communicate and obtain the necessary information.

The PC database and lookup system features a record request screen. Each time a request is made by the WI-130, this screen is updated with the product record.

Another feature of the PC system is the ability to add/edit/delete products. A product list can also be viewed on screen, or printed to a printer.

Available options include transmitting to and storing the finished weight transaction in the PC database program. A transaction report could then be printed.
